This personal injury glossary provides explanations in plain English of a number of technical terms you may encounter in the process of pursuing a personal injury claim.

Mediator - An independent party who assists in negotiation of settlement.

Motor insurance bureau - A company established to compensate the victims of negligent uninsured and untraceable motorists.

Multi-track - How a matter is dealt with and heard by court. When a claim is worth in excess of £25,000. These matters are usually quite complex and a longer time for obtaining relevant evidence is generally provided when compared to “fast track”.

Multi-party litigation - Where there are three or more parties involved in a legal dispute. This could be where there are two different parties responsible for an accident and a claimant wishes to bring legal action against both.
