Our experience
Our solicitors are highly experienced in dealing with people who have been affected by food poisoning, illness outbreaks whilst on holiday, E. coli, contaminated water claims, carbon monoxide poisoning, Legionnaires claims and allergic reactions following negligent service. So if you feel that you or a family member may have suffered a poisoning claim then please call 01616 966 229 or complete our online enquiry form and we’ll call you back.
Most of our claims are funded by way of a conditional fee agreement, which is essentially a 'no win, no fee' agreement, which means there is no financial risk to you, even if the claim is unsuccessful.
Carbon monoxide poisoning
Our solicitors represent people who have been exposed to carbon monoxide in their home, on holiday or in their workplace and have pursued successful claims against private landlords, travel companies and employers.
The effects of carbon monoxide are sometimes difficult to diagnose, as a person may not even be aware that they are suffering from exposure and symptoms can range from sickness and nausea for a matter of days, to extreme cases resulting in brain damage, or even, sadly, death.
If you feel you may have been exposed to carbon monoxide, here or abroad, then please contact us and we will discuss the details in order for us to assess whether or not we feel you have a claim for compensation which we can assist you with.
E. coli claims
Our experts have secured compensation for a number of people, including young children, who have contracted E. coli.
Contracting E. coli can have devastating and long term effects and even in the mildest case is extremely unpleasant, particularly for young children, who suffer prolonged gastrointestinal problems.
If you believe you or a family member has contracted E. coli first and foremost you must seek medical attention, but if you believe this was contracted as a result of a failure to protect you from exposure, then please contact us and we will be happy to discuss the details of your claim and assess whether we can claim compensation for you.
Food poisoning claims
Unfortunately food poisoning claims can be much more than just 24 hours of sickness and feeling unwell. Here at Stephensons we have represented claimants who have suffered food poisoning which has left them with long term, devastating health problems and have secured 6 figure compensation sums for them.
Food poisoning cases are difficult, as it is necessary to establish where and when the poisoning occurred and it is not always easy to pinpoint the source of the food poisoning infection. Claiming for food poisoning is easier to claim for in the UK, than if the food poisoning happens abroad, but our specialist solicitors have expertise in both areas.
If you feel you may have contracted food poisoning, in the UK or abroad, then the first step is to contact us to provide details which we will consider and assess, in order to advise whether we feel you do have a claim we can assist you with.
We are usually able to offer 'no win, no fee' agreements for these sorts of cases, which means there is no financial risk to you.
Contaminated water claims
Our specialists personal injury solicitors have experience in claiming compensation for people who have become ill as a result of unknowingly ingesting poisoned or contaminated water.
Cryptosporidium is one of the most common gastrointestinal illnesses caused by drinking contaminated water. Once ingested, the incubation period is 2 -5 days and symptoms include water diarrhoea, stomach pains, dehydration and fever and can last several days, sometimes weeks. The infection is further spread by contact with infected faeces, particularly if young babies and young children are infected, which means vigilant hand washing after the constant nappy changes.
Elderly people, babies and young children are those at particular risk and can be severely affected by this illness.
If you feel you or a member of your family has been affected as a result of drinking contaminated or poisoned water, in the UK or abroad, then please contact us to discuss this on 01616 966 229.
