At Stephensons, as well as providing first class legal services to our clients, we believe in using our time, expertise and resources to make a positive difference to the people, charities and organisations that help our local communities thrive. Through fundraising, volunteering, partnerships and social value initiatives, our colleagues are encouraged to support causes that matter to them.
Supporting local causes
Giving back has always been an important part of life at Stephensons. Each year, our employees nominate and vote for a Charity of the Year, supporting the successful organisation through fundraising activities, awareness campaigns and volunteering opportunities.
Over the years, we have raised significant funds for a range of both local and national charitable causes. However, our commitment extends beyond financial support. Colleagues across the firm regularly participate in volunteering activities, donate their expertise and contribute to projects that benefit local communities. Whether through mentoring, fundraising events, work placements or community projects, our people are encouraged to play an active role in supporting those who need it most.
These activities provide valuable opportunities for our teams to connect with the communities we serve while developing new skills, building relationships and making a real difference outside the workplace. Community impact forms part of our wider commitment to social value. We strive to operate responsibly and ensure that our business activities have a positive effect on society.
For many of our colleagues, community involvement is one of the most rewarding aspects of working at Stephensons. It reflects our values and demonstrates that success is measured not only by the work we do for our clients, but also by the impact we have on the communities around us.
When you join Stephensons, you'll become part of a team that is passionate about making a difference. You will have the opportunity to support local causes and help those in our local communities who face challenges. In the last year colleagues have had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities including:
- Pretty Muddy
- Walking up Mount Snowdon
- Wigan 10K
- 20 mile pier to pier walk
- Volunteer time to help a local youth centre prepare for Christmas
- Volunteer time at a local foodbank
- Over 10 collegues mentored students at Manchester Metropolitan University
- Representing the firm at Wigan Pride
- Several lunch and learn sessions on a range of topics to support awareness and staff wellbeing
Not only do these activities help charities and initiatives, they also promote team building and are a great way for colleagues to get together outside of work and meet people from across the firm that they may not usually cross paths with.
