Stephensons welcomes six newly qualified solicitors

The national law firm, Stephensons has announced the appointment of six newly qualified solicitors following the successful completion of their training contracts.

Of the six solicitors to join the firm, five have undertaken Stephensons’ two-year trainee scheme with one undertaking a similar scheme with another firm before completing their training with Stephensons. During this time, the trainee solicitors complete four six-month seats, each one in a different department, to experience different areas of the law. The solicitors will now take up their roles in the commercial consumer, commercial property, employment and discrimination, family, probate and regulatory departments within the firm.

Gillian Cooke has qualified as a new commercial consumer solicitor, Laurence Searle as a solicitor in the commercial property team, Gemma Wilson in the firm’s employment and discrimination department, Katie Mayren in probate and Brea Carney Jones in regulatory. All are based in the firm’s Wigan office. Meanwhile in Manchester, Joanna Souter joins the firm’s family law team.

Commenting on the appointments, Louise Griffiths, partner and trainee principal at Stephensons said: “So many of our partners and senior management team started their legal careers here at Stephensons so I am absolutely delighted to see these talented young lawyers start that journey.

“Over the course of their training contracts all six have displayed a real flair and passion for the legal profession and I wish them nothing but continued success.”
