Gillian is a solicitor in the commercial litigation department where she is supervised by Louise Hebborn.
Gillian studied for the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at BPP Manchester part time during her previous career. She joined Stephensons in December 2015 within the commercial litigation team as a new business advisor, bringing a wealth of commercial experience to the role having had previous careers in wholesale and IT. In 2017 Gillian secured a role within the same team as a graduate paralegal fee earner, specialising in landlord and tenant litigation and possession proceedings. Her client base ranged from individuals with one property to companies with multi-million pound portfolios of investment properties. She has also written blogs for the Stephensons website on landlord and tenant matters.
Gillian became a trainee solicitor in September 2018 and moved to the commercial property team. Here Gillian advised a range of clients including individuals, directors of companies and housing associations.
She then spent time in the Wills and probate department and also residential conveyancing where she specialised in complex post completion matters, HM Land Registry applications and registering properties.
Gillian qualified as a solicitor in September 2020 and returned to the commercial litigation team to once again specialise in landlord and tenant litigation, possession proceedings and the new coronavirus specific legislation affecting landlords.
