Laurence is a trainee solicitor currently undertaking his final seat in the commercial property department. He is expected to qualify as a solicitor in September 2020. He is supervised by David Baybut.
Laurence studied law at Liverpool John Moores University where he obtained a 2:1 LLB (Hons) degree in 2015. In 2016 he undertook the LPC at BPP Liverpool and was awarded with a distinction. In addition to studying civil litigation, business law in practice, property law in practice and criminal litigation as core LPC modules he opted to study advanced commercial litigation, commercial law and intellectual property as electives.
In 2017 Laurence took part in Stephensons’ ten week vacation scheme where he worked in the commercial property department. Laurence remained in the commercial property team after completing the internship as a graduate paralegal and undertook his first seat as a trainee in the department in September 2018.
Laurence has gained experience advising a diverse client range, including businesses, individuals, pensions schemes, new build developers and loan providers. He specialises in:
- Drafting and reviewing commercial leases
- Drafting and reviewing licences to assign, rent deposit deeds, transfers, contracts and conditional contracts
- Commercial property acquisitions and sales
- Land registry applications
- Property portfolio refinancing and
- Residential new build sales
Laurence has been involved in a number of high value transactions, recently he assisted with a multi-million pound property portfolio refinance.
