For the second year in a row, the national law firm Stephensons has been recognised as one of The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work in 2026.
The firm was recognised as one of the 126 best ‘Big’ organisations to work for. This nationwide workplace survey recognises and celebrates the UK’s top employers, showcasing organisations that are leading the way in employee engagement, workplace culture and overall employee experience.
The awards use 26 questions from WorkL’s employee engagement survey, developed by behavioural scientists, data analysts, psychologists, business leaders, academics and other independent parties to most accurately monitor employee engagement, wellbeing and discretionary effort in the workplace.
Stephensons scored particularly well for both employee wellbeing and job satisfaction. Its overall engagement score was 8% higher than the legal industry average.
With over 300 staff across multiple locations, Stephensons has long been recognised as a progressive employer in the legal sector. From its award-winning apprenticeship programme to flexible working practices and mental health support initiatives, the firm continues to invest in the success and wellbeing of its team.
This recognition from The Sunday Times follows a string of recent accolades for the firm, including national legal awards and top-tier rankings in both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.
Sean Joyce, managing partner at Stephensons commented:
“Being recognised again in The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work list for 2026 is a fantastic achievement for the firm. It reflects the continued focus we place on nurturing a supportive, collaborative and forward-thinking workplace. Our colleagues are central to our success, and we are dedicated to ensuring they feel respected, motivated and able to reach their full potential.”
Zoe Thomas, editor of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work, added:
“In an evolving world of work Britain’s leading employers are helping staff forge careers that count today – and in the future. In turn, the Best Places to Work have the resilience to weather the current economic storms baked in, thanks to engaged workers who go above and beyond with a smile. Our winning employers span sizes and sectors – from tiny charities and specialist law firms, to multinational fast-food chains and utility giants, and everywhere in between. The thread joining them is the belief that a happy workforce is a stepping stone to better performance, faster growth, and bigger profits. More than that, there’s a collective instinct that a contented rank-and-file is a worthwhile business goal in and of itself.”
The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 was published on Sunday 24th May 2026.
