Seven budding solicitors have begun their apprenticeships or training contracts with the national law firm, Stephensons.
Emily Ireland (Court of Protection), Caitlin Taylor (regulatory), Lucy Naylor (civil liberties), Jack Roland (commercial property), Callum Gaydecki (criminal defence) and Thomas Yates (discrimination) have all begun their solicitor apprenticeships whilst Sally Smith (family law) has commenced a training contract in the department.
A solicitor apprenticeship is an alternative route to becoming a solicitor without incurring student debt. The scheme allows budding solicitors to gain practical experience and earn a wage whilst they study. A solicitor apprenticeship typically lasts between 5 and 6 years, whilst a graduate solicitor apprenticeship runs over the course of 25 months.
Louise Griffiths, Partner and Training Principal at Stephensons said:
“Stephensons offers a variety of routes into the legal profession and has long championed the benefits of apprenticeships. I am pleased to see so many aspiring lawyers begin the journey towards qualification this year and look forward to seeing their careers flourish in the years ahead.”
