Stephensons is proud to celebrate an incredible milestone as two valued members of our team, Pauline Smith and Sharon Edwards, mark 40 years of service with the firm. Their dedication, experience and commitment over four decades have played an important part in the firm’s continued success.
Pauline Smith
Pauline is a Senior Associate Executive in our Personal Injury department. Pauline’s journey began at the firm Marsh Son & Calvert in July 1986 before it later became part of Stephensons, marking the start of a long and distinguished career with us.
Pauline initially worked in the conveyancing department at our Union Street office in Leigh, before moving into personal injury at our Golborne office. It was during this time that she began working alongside Brendan Treanor, a former partner in our personal injury team, later continuing that working relationship when she moved to Leigh.
Over the years, Pauline has demonstrated great adaptability and expertise, eventually progressing into her current role as a file handler. Her breadth of experience across different departments and offices has made her a highly valued member of the PI team.
Sharon Edwards
Sharon is a Paralegal in our Personal Injury department and began her career at Stephensons in June 1986 based at our Golborne office when the electric typewriter was the height of technology. Sharon then re-located to Leigh to continue her work within the personal injury department.
Her career has seen her work closely with a number of colleagues across the firm. She collaborated with Andrew Lindsey on clinical negligence matters, initially in Leigh before moving to our Wigan office. Sharon later returned to personal injury, working with Andrew Welch, Ann Harrison and Sheryl Chadwick across both the Leigh and St Helens offices.
Continuing to build on her extensive experience, Sharon went on to work with Robert Donlan, further strengthening her expertise and contribution to the firm. Sharon is an extremely reliable and hardworking member of the team. Her resilience and dry wit make her an enormously valued colleague.
Commenting on their achievements, Danielle Callaway, head of the Personal Injury department at Stephensons said:
“I’ve the pleasure of working with both Pauline and Sharon for around half of their careers at Stephensons and have seen throughout that time that they are very valued and well-respected members of the team due to the hard work and dedication they have put in over the years. It’s no surprise that they are cousins, as they both bring humour, sarcasm and wit to the team in equal measure. They make quite the double act! Reaching the milestone of 40 years’ service is such a huge achievement for both Sharon and Pauline and reinforces the impact of a working environment where you can truly feel part of a family. I would imagine it helps when you actually are working with your family. Huge congratulations to you both on so many fantastic years of contribution and commitment to the firm.”
A Remarkable Achievement
Reaching 40 years of service is a truly remarkable achievement and reflects both Pauline and Sharon’s loyalty, professionalism and commitment to excellence. Their careers span decades of change within the legal sector, and their contributions have helped shape the firm we are today.
We would like to thank Pauline and Sharon for their outstanding service and congratulate them on this significant milestone.
