Employment law & HR support

Employment disputes occur in businesses of every size across every industry sector. When dealing with an employment issue on behalf of the employer, we seek to understand your industry and particular business circumstances. We know that employment disputes can have a major impact on businesses including an adverse effect on the ability to bid and tender for work, increasing insurance premiums, having a negative effect on cash flow as well as having the potential to damage your brand and reputation.

Workplace Plus

Is a service that combines employment knowledge, experience and expertise unmatched elsewhere in one package.  From structuring employment policies to advice on recruitment, drafting contracts to documenting company procedures, the service gives you all the tools you need to become a best practice employer for a fixed price.

Safe Assist

removes the time and everyday headaches of health and safety from an employer. With an understanding of your business, we create a tailored health and safety solution from structuring policies to documenting company procedures. The service gives you all the tools your business needs to become a safe practice employer. Having these systems in place will enable you to pro-actively plan and improve your workplace systems to make your business work more efficiently resulting in increased profitability.

Most businesses recognise that health and safety in the workplace is of paramount importance but in an ever changing landscape, implementing the necessary infrastructure to maintain best practice for health and safety is difficult for all but the very biggest employers. This leaves businesses in real danger of exposing themselves to unnecessary financial risk by failing to ensure the health and safety of their employees and those affected by the activities of the business.

Debt recovery

In an ever changing economic climate one thing that will always have a negative effect on a business is when a client, customer or contractor fails to pay for a service. At Stephensons our experienced team provide a low cost, reliable and effective debt collection solution.

You can instruct our debt recovery team to send out a letter on your behalf warning against action by completing our online instruction form 24 hours a day. We guarantee to send a letter before action on the same day of instruction (subject to payment) providing we receive your instruction before 4pm.

Cash flow

The survival of your business depends on a healthy cash flow. If your customers do not pay, your employees can not get be paid, your suppliers may restrict credit and your landlord will still want payment of the rent. Put simply, there needs to be enough cash flowing through your business in order for it to survive from one day to the next.

Stephensons work with a network of financial specialists who deliver a range of solutions to businesses who are struggling to stabilise their finances providing them with the breathing space they need to move forward.

Invoice solutions

Invoice solutions enable businesses to sell unpaid invoices to a specialist lender to retrieve payment. Although the lender will take a fee, the overall service they provide in managing your debts will free up your time to concentrate on running your business. Invoice solutions support businesses with negotiating better terms with suppliers and become more proactive when collecting debts.

Factoring – involves the invoice finance company buying your debt and collecting it back from your customers to recoup their costs. This method will give your business a cash flow boost however your customers will be aware you have this facility in place.

Invoice discounting - this option allows money to be borrowed against any unpaid invoices prior to the debts being collected for an agreed fee. Customers will not be aware an invoice discount solution is being used and the debt owed will gradually be paid off as the business retrieves the payments.

Although invoice financing can protect your businesses from the threat of collapse due to unpaid bills it is a lending arrangement which should be carefully considered. Stephensons are well placed to facilitate your options by reviewing your current situation and introducing a lender who is right for you.
