Support service launched for doctors in fitness to practice proceedings

  • Posted

A new pilot service provided by ‘BMA Doctors for Doctors’ was launched on 14 May 2012 which will last 12 months. The aim of the service, which is entirely independent from the General Medical Council, is to provide emotional support to doctors involved in fitness to practice proceedings. The service is confidential and free of charge and is bound to provide many doctors with much needed support from fellow doctors.

The service does not provide legal advice but if you are looking for representation at your fitness to practice hearing, you can contact our expert fitness to practice solicitors for free initial advice now. We understand that this is a very stressful time for many doctors and we can provide the help and assistance required to ensure that all doctors are fully prepared for their hearings.

By professional discipline expert, Laura Hannah

If you are appearing before a Fitness to Practice Panel, you can contact our specialist GMC solicitors now for some free initial guidance on 01616 966 229.
