Our consumer law expert, Andrew Leakey, was interviewed by BBC Radio Sussex in relation to a story about residents in Brighton and Hove.
Some residents, who have bought the leasehold of their former council-owned properties, are facing bills for tens of thousands for improvements. The invoices are being issued by a contractor working on behalf of Brighton and Hove City Council.
The local leaseholders association says leaseholders should be able to choose their own contractors to carry out any work needed on their homes.
Andrew Leakey believes there may be scope for a legal challenge to these bills. Contact Stephensons if this issue affects you.
