Baby boy dies after NHS Trust makes mistakes during delivery

As the covid-19 pandemic nears the end, life is returning to normal for many of us. Sadly, however, the same cannot be said for the NHS.

Despite facing unprecedented treatment backlogs, the NHS are now facing the highest staff shortage in its history with a shortage of 12,000 hospital doctors and 50,000 nurses and midwives.

Staff shortages not only threaten to tackle the covid backlog, but worryingly they pose a threat to patient safety. As clinical negligence lawyers, we see this all too often in practice. It is not uncommon to be asked to investigate a case on behalf of a child who suffered an injury during childbirth as a result of midwife shortages, or for conditions or injuries to go undiagnosed due to lengthy wait times.

If you or a loved one has suffered an injury due to the negligence of a medical or health professional then we may be able to help you pursue a claim for compensation. Our leading team of experts are on hand to offer advice, so please get in touch with us on 0161 696 6165 or complete our online enquiry form and we will contact you directly.
