The Manchester regional group of the Motor Accident Solicitors Society hosted “The Big MASS Charity Quiz” on 31st May at Tiger Tiger in Manchester, inviting teams from all over the North West to come together and raise money for The Spinal Injuries Association.

Jonathan Fogerty, Naomi Wilson & Kate SweeneyOverall, it was a great night and over £4,200 was raised for the charity. The region are now planning an even bigger, better quiz night for next year.

Over 200 people attended the event from all aspects of the motor claim sector with companies and law firms making up 22 teams competing for a shot at the top spot.

The evening kicked off with a fun game of “tops and tails” with the lucky winner getting the latest Kindle (donated by Eclipse Legal).

Craig Budsworth, Vice Chairman of MASS, was the quizmaster for the evening and posed tricky questions to get the teams thinking. Assisting him were the “SIA babes” Naomi Wilson, Regional Co-ordinator and Kate Sweeney, Deputy Regional Co-ordinator.

The £20 entrance ticket included free drinks (sponsored by Forths and UKIM) and a hot buffet (sponsored by John M Hayes Cost Drafting, William James Recruitment, St James Chambers and Birchall & Co Accountants).

During the evening there was a fabulous raffle with prizes ranging from Jo Malone and Clarins goodies to golf days to a full days training with MASS (prizes were donated by Paul Marshall tax, The Nestor Partnership, Birchall & Co, IT Sector, Tiger Tiger, Clarins, 80e, Riliance, John M Hayes and MASS training).

The Spinal Injuries Association were also represented on the night with their team “Wheelie Fabulous”.

Coming in close second and third respectively were “Only Smarties Have the Answer” (Glaisyers Solicitors) and “Gorman Hamilton Go Go Goers” (Gorman Hamilton Solicitors) however the triumphant winners were The Crazy Costers from MRN Solicitors who took home a trophy along with M&S vouchers for each team member (donated by Laird Assessors).

Stephensons Solicitors LLP had a team too - Stephensons Superstars - but we came 8th from bottom!
