Lucy Hesketh

Biography

Lucy is a graduate paralegal within the family law team based at the firm’s Wigan office. She joined Stephensons in August 2023 after graduating from the University of Liverpool with an upper second-class degree in law.

Lucy began her career with the firm in the SRA interventions team, where she gained valuable experience in handling complex and sensitive matters. She then moved into the family team in February 2026, where she now focuses primarily on supporting solicitors in child care matters.

In her current role, Lucy is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including reviewing and drafting legal documentation, liaising with clients, courts and professionals and supporting solicitors on complex cases. She regularly assists in matters involving sensitive and challenging issues such as substance misuse, mental health concerns, domestic abuse, neglect and parental alienation. 

Alongside her position, Lucy has also completed additional training and acts as a mental health first aid volunteer within the firm. Lucy acts as a non-judgemental point of contact for colleagues, helping to promote wellbeing in the workplace and signposting individuals to appropriate support services where needed.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys spending time with her friends, family and dogs. She also enjoys reading and travelling to new places.
