Jessica joined Stephensons in April 2018 as a graduate paralegal working in the regulatory department.
Prior to this, Jessica completed her law degree at Sheffield Hallam University between 2012 and 2015 and graduated with an upper second class degree with Honours. In September 2016, Jessica commenced the bar professional training course (BPTC) at Manchester BPP Law School which she completed in June 2017 and obtained the grade ‘very competent’.
Jessica assists the specialist partners and solicitors in the department dealing with a variety of areas. This includes road traffic and motoring offences and criminal prosecutions brought against clients by public bodies such as the Environment Agency and local authorities.
Jessica also assists with professional discipline cases when clients are being investigated by their professional regulator and face proceedings, usually in relation to the client’s fitness to practise.
In addition, Jessica assists solicitors with Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted) cases providing representation to registered providers or managers in a range of matters including making a complaint, compliance, enforcement action and appeals.
Jessica is supervised by Carl Johnson.
