Bethany Corday

Bethany is a solicitor in the family law department at Stephensons and is primarily based in our Wigan office.

Bethany joined Stephensons upon graduating from university in September 2014. She joined the firm as a graduate paralegal and has spent the majority of her time at Stephensons within the family department. Bethany secured a training contract with Stephensons in September 2017 and spent 18 months of her 2 year training contact within the family team under the supervision of Amanda Rimmer and Victoria Gethin.

Bethany qualified as a solicitor within the department in September 2019.

Bethany has accrued considerable experience in children matters and in relation to domestic abuse since joining the firm.

Bethany specialises in the following:

Bethany has represented parents in negotiating arrangements and also within court proceedings concerning arrangements for their children. Bethany has represented parents, extended family members and local authorities within pre-proceedings and in care proceedings.

Bethany has experience within children matters, domestic abuse, divorce and financial matters.

Bethany’s work is now focused primarily on children matters both private law (issues relating to children where there is a dispute between parents) and public law (issues relating to children involving the local authority/social services). Bethany has worked on children cases involving significant allegations of domestic abuse, issues relating to drugs and alcohol, mental health issues, cases with an international element including applications to relocate and cases involving allegations of non-accidental injuries,

Bethany has successfully obtained urgent orders in order to ensure the protection and safety of victims of domestic abuse. Bethany has also successfully obtained urgent orders to ensure the safety of children.
