Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is no longer considered to be simply a case of year end benevolence and is now widely accepted as a year round responsibility. Companies worldwide, whether large or small are realising the level of impact they have both environmentally and within the community and are bidding to make a positive difference to the world we live in.
As a firm Stephensons has a long standing commitment to the community it serves, being one of the largest law firms in the North West to still provide advice and assistance to the poor and the vulnerable through publicly funded work. Stephensons has formed a new CSR Focus Group, with over 20 representatives spread between each of the 7 branch locations around the North West. The CSR Group will add to our existing commitment by focusing on areas where improvements can be made.
Following the project plan outlined by the UK Small Business Consortium namely “Better Business Journey”, the Group will break CSR down into 4 different sections: people, premises, purchasing and promoting. The aim of the Focus Group will then be to put into action any possible improvements that arise through discussion both immediately and in the long term.
Initially the Focus Group will give consideration to ‘premises’, staff throughout the firm will be invited to contribute suggestions that ultimately lead to mutually beneficial initiatives.
