Stephensons’ personal injury solicitors recently settled a case on behalf of a woman in Shropshire who had fallen and suffered injuries while out shopping.
The woman was shopping in a stationery store and was approaching the counter to pay. However before she got to the counter, she tripped and fell on an unmarked ramp. The fall exacerbated a previous knee condition, bringing forward a need for surgery by 12 months, while neck and back injuries were also sustained.
The ramp was carpeted and did not have any hazard tape around it to warn people, but hazard tape was applied to the ramp a few days after the accident.
After Stephensons took on the case and launched legal proceedings against the owner of the shop, the case was swiftly settled for £5,200.
This type of case is unfortunately very common and we have a team of personal injury specialists who are available to help people who have suffered slips or trips while out shopping.
