Whiplash injury following a fall on ice - £1,450 settlement
Barry Sutton, a personal injury claims handler, recently settled a case for a client who was injured after falling on ice in a car park.
At the time of the incident, the client was crossing a council owned car park. As he made his way towards the ticket machine he noticed that there was no grit covering the ice on the floor. On his way back to his car, he slipped on a large piece of ice, causing him to fall backwards onto his back. When the client stood up, he noticed that he had pain in his neck and back.
The following day, the client attended hospital as the pain caused by his fall continued. The doctors advised that he had suffered whiplash injuries to his neck and shoulder and also soft tissue damage to his lower back. The client had to attend various physiotherapy sessions. The case was settled for £1,450.
