Ruth Metcalfe

Biography

Ruth is an associate case manager in the claims against public authorities team. She has worked at Stephensons for over 25 years and previously represented clients at police station interviews as an accredited representative within the criminal litigation department.

In 2015 Ruth transferred to the civil liberties department and brought her experience of representing clients at the police station, criminal litigation and knowledge of police procedures to the claims against public authorities team.

Since this time she has been involved in a number of cases in which compensation was successfully obtained against the police and other public authorities.

Ruth‘s clients consider that she is very down to earth and able to explain what can be very technical legal issues in a straightforward way. Ruth has experience of dealing with complex cases and has been able to help clients through the process of making a claim in difficult circumstances whilst providing support and reassurance.

Ruth is a member of the Police Action Lawyers Group (PALG).
