Biography

Claire commenced her employment with Stephensons in September 2004. Her initial role was a secretarial one working for a solicitor who acted primarily for children’s guardians and parents within care proceedings.

Claire has since progressed within the firm and has studied with Cilex which has provided her with valuable knowledge of the legal sector and she has developed her role within the firm. Claire is a Chartered Legal Executive and recently passed her advance practice rights course.  

Claire now advises and assists clients in all aspects of family law and represents client’s at court within various proceedings including private law proceedings and parents within care proceedings. 

Claire is experienced in all aspects of family law including public law proceedings, private law children act proceedings, issues following from separation and assisting parties with protection from domestic abuse including obtaining non molestation orders and occupation orders.

Key case

Claire provided support in a case whereby we represented a mother in care proceedings. At the final hearing a placement order was made which allowed the local authority to commence their search for an adoptive placement. An appeal was lodged with the court, the appeal was allowed due to legal issues with the judgement handed down at the final hearing and the appeal process finalised with an order for the child to be returned to the care of his mother under a supervision order which required the local authority to continue to provide the mother with support and assistance for a minimum period of 12 months.
