Stephensons invests further in risk management

Stephensons Solicitors LLP has appointed a new risk assessment officer to ensure the firm achieves best practice in operational risk and complies with regulatory issues.

Julie Rimmer has joined the firm’s Business Excellence department to assist in ensuring the firm is compliant with industry bodies such as the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Legal Services Commission.

Julie will also have responsibility for ensuring the practice maintains its Lexcel standard, as well as educating staff in risk management and internal controls.

Julie is based in Stephenson’s Leigh office but is responsible for managing risk across all the firm’s offices in Manchester, Bolton, Wigan and St Helens. She previously enjoyed a 24-year career with Stephensons from 1981 to 2005.

Julie said: “Stephensons has always been at the forefront of change in the legal profession, and the opportunity to work with the firm once again was too good to pass up on.”

Ann Harrison, chairwoman of Stephensons, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Julie back to the firm. She will play a significant role in managing risk to ensure all areas of the firm are compliant.”
