Stephensons, the national law firm, has celebrated a successful year of fundraising by presenting the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust with a cheque for more than £5,000.
Alistair Laing, Charity Relationship Manager from the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, which was chosen as charity of the year by Stephensons staff, was on hand to receive the donation and meet with some of the fundraisers.
The charity, based in the North West, offers a variety of programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West.
The needs of the children visiting the adventure farm range from complex and severe physical and learning disabilities to sensory impairments and terminal illnesses. The children’s charity also works with youngsters who act as carers for a family member, victims of abuse and those dealing with bereavement.
Stephensons has held several fundraisers over the past twelve months, with generous staff pledging donations for everything from dress-down days, to bake sales and to greuling 10k runs. The team also volunteered their time to help the charity at its annual open day.
Alistair Lang, who received the donation on behalf of the charity, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to receive this donation from Stephensons and would like to thank them for all their generosity over the past year.
“The total of £5,075 is a phenomenal amount of money which will help us to maintain and improve the wide range of programmes we are able to provide.
“The vast majority of our funding comes from donations from individuals and businesses, such as Stephensons so this kind of support is invaluable.”
