Free legal webinar shines a light on pregnancy and maternity in the workplace

Three in four mothers say they have had a negative or discriminatory experience

Stephensons, will be hosting a webinar for business owners, directors and senior managers seeking practical guidance and HR best practice when employees are pregnant or have already embarked on maternity leave.

The free webinar, held on Tuesday 19th July from 10am to 11am, will be facilitated by Adam Pennington and Stephen Woodhouse, senior associates at Stephensons Solicitors LLP.

This practical webinar will explore employee rights during pregnancy, the employer’s duty of care and take a closer look at rights during and following an employee’s return from maternity leave.

Commenting ahead of the webinar, Philip Richardson, Partner and Head of Employment Law at Stephensons said: “For many people, pregnancy and maternity discrimination continues to be a blight on their workplace experience. Significant numbers of people are still highlighting unfair treatment and discrimination during their pregnancy, whilst on maternity leave or in returning to the workplace.

“While this is a complex area of employment law, this webinar aims to equip employers with the right tools and know-how to avoid making any legal miss steps and ensuring their employees feel fully supported as they embark on parenthood.”
