£16,000 award for fractured knee and broken foot

Stephensons’ Personal Injury Solicitor Shahina Sakeria secured a compensation of £16,335 for 58-year-old conveyancing manager who was injured at a local Royal Mail sorting office.

Our client was at the Bredbury Royal Mail sorting office in Stockport to collect the office mail. An elastic band was left on the floor, which got tangled in her feet and caused her to tumble to the floor.

Our client landed on her knees with a side of her face smashing into the ground. Due to the excruciating pain she was in she was immediately taken to the A&E by her husband. Her x-ray and MRI confirmed a spiral fracture to her right knee and a broken bone in her foot and clicking to the jaw.

Our client was forced to work from home for nearly two months as she recovered from the fall and her leg remained in a brace. She returned to the office wearing an orthopaedic boot, which remained for another three months. Our client had to have her workspace moved to the ground floor in the office. As a result of this accident she was required to undergo Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and soft bite splint along with physiotherapy.

After negotiating her client’s case, solicitor Shahina Sakeria successfully settled the case for £16,335 compensation for her client.

“My claim should’ve been settled long ago but because of the admitted dilatoriness of my previous solicitors this wasn’t the case, thus causing delay and stress to me. Shahina and the team members stepped in and took my case over, working against the clock. I am delighted with the settlement achieved by their professionalism and diligence”.

“Their patience and kindness took a huge part of the stress caused by my previous solicitors away from me”.
