Pauline Smith, Associate Executive, recently settled a case for a client who sustained injury during his course of employment and JD Whetherspoon.
Our client was taking refuse bags out to the industrial bins, located at the back of a JD Whetherspoon pub. There were no lighting in place and as our client put the last bag in to the bin, he caught his left arm on a sharp object, which had been left sticking out of the bin.
As a result of the accident, our client sustained a laceration to the left forearm which took weeks to heal. Our client suffered from pain for several weeks following the accident and from thereon was left with some discomfort which settled two months later. He was also left with permanent residual scarring. Our client was also forced to take time off work due to the injury.
Our client received £3,543.96 in compensation, following an out of court settlement.
