On 1st October 2007 the Legal Services Commission implemented civil fee schemes changing the way in which family solicitors are remunerated for legal aid work. The Law Society has expressed concerns that the reforms will lead to hundreds of legal aid practitioners giving up legal aid work and that this will leave many vulnerable clients unrepresented.
