Stephensons gains Lexcel accreditation for 11th consecutive year

The national law firm, Stephensons has secured The Law Society’s prestigious Lexcel accreditation for the 12th year in a row.

The Lexcel practice management accreditation is an optional scheme for law firms and in-house legal departments and is awarded to those who meet the highest management and client care standards.

In her assessment of Stephensons, the visiting Lexcel assessor, Anne Milne commented:

“The firm is managed in a modern and inclusive style. Senior management are open and approachable, people feel appreciated and valued, and the firm operates as a whole.

“Communications have continued to work very well, and people feel they are kept informed of general developments and strategic plans. The recent board tour was very well received, being the first physical meeting since the pandemic started, and people greatly appreciated the open and honest presentation made by senior management.

“People management is very good. Line managers are thought to be very effective – good at people management and coaching and knowledge sharing. People continue to be encouraged to develop their skills and qualifications, for the good of the individual and the firm.

“Compliance and risk management is a strength of the firm, with people feeling well supported by line managers and the compliance team.

“Standards of client care remain high, and the firm continues to attract and retain clients”.

Commenting on the assessment result, Andrew Welch, Managing Partner of Stephensons added:

“It is testament to all those working at Stephensons that we have been recognised by Lexcel once again. At every level and in every role within the firm there is a drive and determination to ensure that we provide the very best legal support to all our clients, no matter their legal predicament.”
