The national law firm, Stephensons, has been awarded tier one status for a sixth year in the latest edition of The Legal 500.
Each year, The Legal 500 undertakes rigorous research into the industry to provide its definitive guide to the legal profession in the UK. The independent guide recommends law firms for their expertise by ranking them in tiers and also highlights any outstanding legal professionals.
In total, the guide awarded Stephensons rankings in eight practice areas. Commendations were given to Stephensons’ crime, fraud, clinical negligence, personal injury, family, and social housing teams with further recognition for local government law and professional discipline.
Among the departments which were ranked this year, The Legal 500 once again reserved particular praise for Stephensons’ crime and fraud work, both of which received the coveted ‘tier 1’ ranking for the sixth consecutive year.
Elsewhere in the firm, its family team retained its ‘tier 2’ ranking, as did the firm’s clinical negligence team. Stephensons’ personal injury department maintained its ‘tier 3’ ranking as did social housing and local government. Finally, Stephensons’ professional discipline team moved up the rankings to earn ‘tier 3’ status.
Across many departments, The Legal 500 also recognised the work of individual partners and solicitors. In total, 10 members of the Stephensons team were honoured as a ‘Leading Individual’, ‘Next Generation Partner’ or ‘Rising Star’.
Andrew Welch, managing partner at Stephensons said: “Naturally, I am delighted that the Legal 500 has once again recognised the work of the firm and the talent of so many of our team members.
“The Legal 500 is a helpful barometer of success in legal services and it shows that our offering continues to be among the very best in the country.”
