Trafford training seminar will focus on protecting the vulnerable

Stephensons Solicitors LLP, incorporating Dobsons, is holding a half day training seminar at Lancashire County Cricket Club for Trafford-based organisations which support vulnerable people.

Aimed at charities, carers, housing trusts and citizens advice bureau staff, the seminar will offer those attending an introduction to various practical aspects of housing law, consumer law, community care and court of protection issues.

It will be held on September 27th from 1.30pm – 4.30pm in the Red Rose Suite at The Point at LCCC.

Jonathan Dobson, partner at Stephensons incorporating Dobsons, in Altrincham, said: “This training update is aimed at those professionals in the area who support vulnerable people with some aspect of their lives.

“The theme of the day will be ‘protecting the vulnerable’ and attendees will gain an introduction into key issues which can help to provide a solution to distressed clients. The seminar will also help people to spot cluster problems among their clients.”

Among the speakers is Andrew Leakey, a partner and consumer law expert, who has helped hundreds of people to get out of debt by challenging the validity of their loan agreements. Housing partner, Joanne Murray, Community Care solicitor Melanie Varey and associate solicitor, Rob Gore will also present.

The event is free to attend and solicitors from voluntary organisations can obtain three hours of CPD. To book a place, email Lesley Davies at Stephensons:
