Nicola commenced employment with the firm in June 2005. Nicola trained with Stephensons and qualified as a solicitor in the commercial litigation and insolvency department.
Commercial litigation
Nicola has experience in banking and finance litigation acting for financial institutions in the recovery of assets and monies due to the client whether this be by way of court proceedings or the appointment of receivers. Nicola has also assisted individuals being pursued by lenders pursuant to finance agreements, personal guarantees and security given to the lenders.
Nicola acts for both commercial landlords and tenants in respect of property disputes. Her experience includes pursuing tenants and landlords for breaches of the lease, acting for clients in lease renewal proceedings in court and advising clients on general compliance with the terms of a lease. Nicola also acts for commercial property owners in respect of land disputes.
Nicola has experience in advising upon corporate and shareholder disputes, contract disputes and advising directors as to their duties to a company and subsequent liability in directors’ disqualification proceedings.
Insolvency
Nicola specialises in both corporate and personal insolvency acting on behalf of Insolvency Practitioners, individuals and companies and directors and investors. This involves advising on recovery and rescue of businesses in distress, including where needed, formal insolvency procedures.
