Overview

Selling or buying a house can be a stressful time. To ensure that this is not the case it is important to make sure that speak to your lawyer as soon as possible. Since 14th December 2007 anyone selling a property in England and Wales will have to first obtain a Home Information Pack (HIP) which will provide any prospective buyer with brief initial information concerning the property.

Stephensons will be able to ensure that if you are selling your house, a HIP is produced for you to enable an estate agent to market the property for you. Once a buyer has been found we can deal with the legal process that needs to be undertaken to show the buyers solicitors that you properly own the house and have a good title to it.

If you are buying a property, it is likely that you will receive a HIP produced on behalf of the seller, from the estate agent. We can advise you on the content of the HIP and also deal with the legal process of buying the property for you.

Equally if you wish to change your mortgage provider, we can deal with the process of paying off your existing mortgage and replacing it with a mortgage in favour of your new lender.
