North West firm Stephensons Solicitors LLP has been given an excellent endorsement for its provision of legal services in the latest edition of The Legal 500.
The Legal 500 is the definitive guide to the legal profession and each year, its researchers undertake stringent research into the industry. The independent guide recommends law firms for their expertise by ranking them in tiers.
In the 2011 edition, published today, Stephensons has been ranked in twelve areas of law and has received recommendations in the areas of corporate and commercial, commercial property, social housing, employment, family, crime, clinical negligence, personal injury, tax, trusts and probate, local government and commercial litigation.
The guide singles out the firm’s Family team, which receives a tier two ranking. It says: “Stephensons Solicitors LLP has expanded to handle privately funded work for high-net-worth individuals, and has also boosted its capabilities in unmarried couple advice and collaborative law services. The well-respected Mike Devlin leads the team.”
It also praises the firm’s Crime and Fraud team, who also received a tier two position. It says: “Stephensons Solicitors LLP has scored some notable victories in criminal appeal cases, and its prisons and public law team has also been successful in a number of groundbreaking high-profile cases. Neal Boland leads the regulatory team.”
Sarah Boustouller, marketing manager and associate at Stephensons, said: “A ranking in the Legal 500 is a significant indicator that we are delivering legal services the way our clients want them.
“The researchers interview our peers, our clients and other referrers of work to reach a decision on where we should be positioned. This independent recognition is very valuable to us and we are pleased that so many areas of work have been recommended.”
Stephensons has 30 partners and a turnover of £15 million to April 2011. The firm is a leading North West law firm, with a network of offices in Manchester, Bolton, Middlebrook, Wigan, Leigh and St Helens, and employs more than 350 staff.
