Accidents at Work FAQ

How will I know if I can bring a claim?
You will be eligible to bring a claim if you suffered an injury which was caused by someone who should have been taking reasonable care for your safety, such as your employer.

My employer may sack me if a bring a claim?
It should not affect your current work situation as your employers should have in place insurance to cover accidents happening in the workplace. There is undoubtedly a risk that they may make your life uncomfortable. If this were to happen, we would speak to you about it and refer you over to our experienced employment department if necessary.

What if my accident was caused by a colleague, can I still claim.
Yes, providing we can prove it was your colleague's fault, then your employer will still be responsible, as they are the ones who are under a duty to keep you safe whilst at work.

What if my employers have gone bust?
Just because your employer is no longer in existence does not mean we cannot claim. Providing your employer had the relevant and valid insurance in place at the time of your accident, we should still be able to claim.

Will I have to go to Court?
Potentially yes, but the vast majority of cases settle without the need to go to Court.
