Road safety message to St Bernard's

Rebecca Shippam with the prize winner from St Bernard's RC Primary SchoolPupils from St Bernard’s RC Primary School in Ladybridge, Bolton, took part in a road safety poster competition recently as part of the national campaign, Road Safety Week.

The winner was presented with their prize, a £30 Game gift voucher, by Rebecca Shippam from the Road Traffic Accident team at Stephensons, who is also a volunteer for road safety charity, BRAKE.

Stephensons ran a series of interactive classes with almost 100 of the pupils in order to remind them how to cross the road safely, and be aware of other road users. The school children’s task was to come up with a road safety poster targeted at someone younger than them, or at an adult, to drive home the message of road safety as part of National Road Safety Week 2011.

Rebecca said: “The standard of the posters was extremely high and we were really pleased that so many children took part. The winning pupil clearly understood the message of road safety and we hope he will enjoy his prize.”
