Stephensons gears up for motoring expansion

Martyn Walsh, Sean Joyce & Carl JohnsonNorth West law firm Stephensons Solicitors LLP is driving forward the growth of its specialist road traffic legal team with the addition of two experienced motoring offence solicitors.

Martyn Walsh, from Chester, has been recruited from Carter Moore Solicitors in Manchester, where he led the motoring offences department. Prior to that he worked at Freeman and Co. Carl Johnson, a motoring solicitor from Widnes, joins from Byrne Frodsham and Co.

Both Martyn and Carl join an expanding motoring and transport team at Stephensons which has more than doubled in size in the last year, and is led by Partner, Sean Joyce.

Martyn, who is a Higher Rights Solicitor Advocate, said: “Stephensons has a great reputation and the attention to detail and the results that are achieved for our clients are excellent.

“My role will be to prepare motoring defence cases and present them in Court. The firm can deal with a wide range of offences and our clients come from a varied background from business to individuals, in fact anyone that needs their licence in daily life.”

Carl added: “Joining Stephensons was an opportunity to join a market-leading motoring offences team with an excellent reputation and a clear strategy for future expansion and growth. “

On the new appointments, Partner Sean Joyce added: “Both Martyn and Carl have impressive experience in motoring law. This is an area of rapid growth within our Criminal Defence practice and their appointment to the team will enable us to cope with the large amount of public demand for legal assistance in defending motoring prosecutions.”
