Negligent treatment - £225,000 settlement

Stephensons' clinical negligence specialists were able to obtain a settlement of £225,000 after negligent treatment resulted in the death of a young couple’s daughter and subsequent psychiatric problems for both parents.

 

Our client’s daughter was unwell for six days prior to her admission to hospital; she had also been seen by a doctor two days earlier who saw no reason to send her to hospital. Following her admission to hospital her condition deteriorated and she passed away 3 days later.

 

As a result of their daughters death through negligence both her mother and father suffered psychiatric problems due to the horror and helplessness as the sequence of events unfolded.
