Can I take my name off the deeds and still have a share of the property?

There are ways in which you can secure a charge on the property in a similar way to your lender. Contact the family line team for further information on 0800 073 1324.

Can we both keep our names on the deeds?

There is no reason why any property cannot remain in joint names if this is what you want, there are various ways in which we can do this. We will discuss the pros and cons with you. Your lender may need to approve the agreement. Contact the family line team on 0800 073 1324.

Does it make a difference if I am in a same sex relationship?

No as neither opposite sex or same sex partners have significant rights.

How long will it take? How much will it cost?

Every separation agreement is different and we may need to negotiate terms with your partner and or lender so we cannot give a precise time scale. We will provide you with a costs estimate when we have the details of the work you want us to carry out. Contact the family line team on 0800 073 1324.
