Landlord Legal Helpline

Our legal helpline for landlords provides your clients with 24/7 access to our five star legal helpline service where they will be given initial guidance and practical advice on any legal matter, not just those related to tenants or properties, by our legal experts. Our experience in the sector means we know which solicitor and specialist department within Stephensons is best placed to help them, or which agencies to refer the case to.

Our experienced team will walk them through their options, help them to understand their legal rights and what steps to take next. Our legal helpline covers landlords for their entire portfolio and we offer our expertise to businesses of all shapes and sizes.

Please note that our helpline advisors can give advice over the phone but we cannot help with complex legal matters that involve specific legislation or needs professionals to review documents.


Landlord Legal Expenses

Our landlord legal expenses product gives landlords access to the 24/7 legal helpline as well as £50,000 legal expenses insurance cover. This product is purchased for each property that they would like to cover and can provide them with legal assistance on:

  • Repossession of a property
  • Recovery of rent owed on a property
  • Damages caused to a property
  • Nuisance or trespass
  • Defence of criminal prosecutions
  • HMRC enquiries into personal tax affairs.

Our specialist lawyers can also give landlords advice on repossession including the costs involved and how they should serve the right notice to their tenant.

Our legal helpline team will help to determine if legal expenses cover is relevant to the landlord’s enquiry, confirm policy cover with the insurer and instruct a solicitor on their behalf.
