Elizabeth Groom

Graduate Paralegal

Elizabeth is a graduate paralegal in the regulatory department and specialises in regulatory defence, professional discipline and road traffic offences.

Elizabeth commenced her career at Stephensons in April 2018 whilst studying for her masters in international business, finance and corporate law at Liverpool John Moores University. Prior to this, Elizabeth graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with an upper second class honours degree in law in 2017.

Elizabeth assists the partners and solicitors within the regulatory department specialising in numerous areas including: road traffic offences; customs and excise; border force seizures; trading standards investigations and prosecutions; and data protection. She is supervised by Carl Johnson.

Elizabeth also assists with providing advice and representation to providers in cases before the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted).

In addition, Elizabeth also assists professionals at various stages of disciplinary proceedings before their regulatory bodies, including: Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC); General Dental Council (GDC); and the General Medical Council (GMC).

Outside of work, Elizabeth is an avid reader and enjoys working on her classic car.
