Emily commenced her career at Stephensons in August 2016 and joined the regulatory department in December 2017.
Emily assists the partners and solicitors in the team and undertakes work in numerous areas, such as helping clients who face road traffic offences and assisting clients who face fitness to practise proceedings before the General Medical Council (‘GMC’); Nursing and Midwifery Council (‘NMC’); Health Care and Professions Council (‘HCPC’); General Dental Council (‘GDC’); Association for Chartered Certified Accountants (‘ACCA’); as well as many other professional regulatory bodies.
Emily also assists the specialist solicitors in providing representation to providers when the Care Quality Commission (‘CQC’) and Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (‘Ofsted’) are seeking to cancel their registration. She is also experienced in assisting clients who face barring by the Disclosure and Barring Service (‘DBS’).
Prior to starting her employment at Stephensons, in July 2016, Emily obtained an upper second class honours degree in LLB law from the University of Leeds. She is currently studying towards her legal practice course and masters at the University of Law in Manchester and holds a distinction at present.
