Emily is a trainee solicitor and she commenced her career at Stephensons as a graduate paralegal in August 2016.
Emily joined the regulatory department in December 2017 and she went on to secure a training contract with the firm which she began in September 2019.
Emily is currently working in the firm’s regulatory department. She helped clients facing road traffic offences, as well as clients facing fitness to practice proceedings before their professional bodies, such as the General Medical Council (GMC); the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC); and the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC). Emily also assisted the solicitors in providing representation to providers when the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted) were commencing enforcement action. Emily also assisted clients with other aspects of regulatory law, such as HM Revenue and Customs seizures and Health and Safety offences.
Prior to starting her employment at Stephensons, in July 2016, Emily obtained an upper second class honours degree in LLB law from the University of Leeds. In July 2019, she completed her legal practice course and masters at the University of Law in Manchester and gained a distinction.
