Cameron Stubbs

Cameron is an associate solicitor in the regulatory department at Stephensons specialising in health and social care regulation, professional discipline, transport, and financial regulation.

Prior to working at Stephensons, Cameron obtained a first-class honours degree in law from Edge Hill University. Cameron has also obtained a masters in legal practice from the University of Central Lancashire, graduating with distinction.

Ofsted and CQC regulation

Cameron represents registered providers and managers before the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted). Cameron has assisted providers and managers in relation to the following:

• Challenging inspection reports and ratings/gradings
• Drafting complaints and internal reviews
• Drafting representations in response to notices of proposal to refuse, cancel, or impose/vary conditions of registration
• Appealing suspension notices, notices to impose or vary conditions on registration, notices to restrict accommodation, and cancellation notices to the first-tier tribunal (care standards chamber); and

Road Transport

Environmental Law

Cameron represents a wide range of businesses and individuals prosecuted by the Environment Agency for a range of environmental offences. Cameron deals with different varieties and stages of case including:

• Initial investigations by the EA or a local authority, including advice and representation at interviews under caution (known as PACE interviews)
• Criminal investigations and prosecutions, including representation at court
• Ancillary orders to prosecution, including disqualification of a director and confiscation of assets under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002
