Adam joined Stephensons in October 2013 as a paralegal apprentice. He has worked as a probate executive in the team since March 2016, specialising in:
- Inheritance tax planning
- Probate/estate administration including insolvent estates and high net worth estates
- Lasting powers of attorney
- Court of Protection applications
He is currently an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and working towards further qualifications. Adam is supervised by Jill Rushton.
Adam has written a number of articles for the website and has appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live to discuss issues relating to local authorities’ duties to deal with the bodies of deceased persons where the family have not done so.
Adam’s most memorable cases include dealing with an intestacy with an estranged family spanning multiple countries all over the world and successfully negotiating complex inheritance tax disputes with HMRC concerning domicile and other issues.
