Businesses urged to attend Gulls' Eggs Luncheon

Manchester’s business community are being urged to attend an annual luncheon and charity auction to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

More than 250 of the region’s professionals are expected to attend the third annual Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon, on Thursday 24th May in the Banqueting Room at Manchester Town Hall.

The event, hosted by leading private bank, Brown Shipley, has established itself as one of the premier networking and fundraising events in Manchester. Last year, more than £10,000 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support, and organisers are confident that this year’s fundraising effort will be even more successful.

Peter Collier, chairman of the Brown Shipley Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon, and marketing strategy director at Brown Shipley, said: “The luncheon has become a significant Manchester diary date with a spirited following. It’s a really special springtime event which as well as being a great place to network with other like-minded professionals, is an important source of funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, who provide support to all those affected by cancer.

“The luncheon will raise funds specifically for projects in the Manchester and North West area, and during the event, Macmillan will spend five minutes telling us about some of these local projects.”

The exclusive luncheon will provide business people with the opportunity to enjoy an informal standing lunch, with servings of Gulls’ Eggs, a delicacy only available for a few weeks each year. Traditional accompaniments such as smoked salmon and fine wines will also be served.

Gillian Davies, family solicitor at Stephensons Solicitors LLP, and a committee member of the luncheon, added: “This event promises to be an exceptional way to meet other professionals in a unique environment, and I am pleased to be part of the organising committee. We would like to thank the local businesses who have already supported the cause by purchasing tickets and donating prizes for the auction. Macmillan Cancer Support is also our firm’s nominated charity for 2012, so we are honoured to be part of this fundraising effort.”

Tickets are available to buy online at Macmillan - Brown Shipley Gulls Eggs Luncheon or for information on ticket packages call the Macmillan Special Events team on 01616 966 229.
