Confidence Whilst in Custody - prison law

With the reductions in scope for prison law advice, many providers are considering whether there is a future for prison law. At Stephensons, we have had a committed prison law team for over 12 years which has worked alongside our renowned appeals team and has taken a number of ground breaking cases on prisoner’s rights.

We have pursued cases concerning coursework availability, categorisation and even the legality of indeterminate detention all the way to the European Court of Human Rights.

Prison law advice

Our prison law solicitors understand that timely legal advice for prisoners is important and can provide resolution to a number of problems. Sometimes just being able to speak to a specialist can provide the confidence to deal with a problem that has arisen.

Whilst legal aid is still available for some prison law issues, a problem that often arises is that a partner’s means need to be taken into account meaning that those in custody do not qualify if for example the part time job of the partner is taken into account.

We are therefore pleased to offer our Confidence Whilst in Custody packages which may be purchased by family and friends of prisoners. These packages are competitively priced and provide certainty of costs.

The packages range from a 30 minute telephone advice consultation (valid for up to two months and charged by the minute, meaning that advice can be sought up to the credit limit on different occasions), through to fixed fee legal visit packages and representation at Parole Board hearings. A monthly payment scheme can also be arranged on some packages.

To enquire about our Confidence Whilst in Custody packages, please telephone 0175 321 5096 or you can email the prison law team directly at: prisonlaw@stephensons.co.uk.

Our Trustpilot reviews

Extremely happy with the service. Employees are very helpful and kept me up to date even on the smallest change, this is the best company I have used, strongly recommend the firm, and would definitely use them again.
