Court of Protection & community care - legal services price guide

If you contact us with an enquiry, a specialist solicitor from the department may be able to offer you a fixed fee advice package. Below are examples of some situations where a fixed fee advice package may be offered:

  • Deprivation of liberty
  • Capacity disputes
  • Best interest meetings
  • Removal of an adult from their home
  • Disputes over contact
  • Reduction of a care package provided by the council or the clinical commissioning group
  • Disputes over an assessment of need
  • Disputes with councils or the clinical commissioning group about funding or provision of a care package for adults or children in need

 

Fixed fee advice packages

Fixed fee telephone appointment with a solicitor

Up to 1 hour- £200 plus VAT

This service includes a telephone appointment of up to one hour with a specialist solicitor.

Fixed fee office appointment with a solicitor

60 minutes - £250 plus VAT

This service includes a 60 minute face to face appointment with a specialist solicitor. The appointment can take place in any of our offices - London, Manchester, Wigan, Bolton, Leigh or St Helens.

Fixed fee telephone appointment with a solicitor and follow up letter of advice

30 minutes - £300 plus VAT

60 minutes - £400 plus VAT

This service includes consideration of a maximum of 25 pages of documents prior to the appointment and a letter of advice following the appointment.

Fixed fee office appointment with a solicitor and letter of advice

60 minutes - £500 plus VAT

This service includes consideration of a maximum of pages of 25 documents prior to the appointment and a letter of advice following the appointment. The appointment can take place in any of our offices - London, Manchester, Wigan, Bolton, Leigh or St Helens.

Fixed fee letter of advice

Up to 100 pages and a letter of advice - £600 plus VAT

This service includes consideration of documents and a letter of advice.

Bespoke packages

If you feel that you require a bespoke package or advice on an hourly rate basis then we will discuss your particular requirements with you and agree a bespoke fee package that meets your individual needs and provides you with the service that you require to progress your case. An example of when a bespoke package would be required is if your case is currently in active court proceedings, if this is the case fixed fee packages are not available.

All of the above services will be carried out by a qualified specialist solicitor and specific experience can be seen in the individual staff profiles.
