Francesca Snape

Francesca is a solicitor in our regulatory department based in Wigan.

Why did you choose a career at Stephensons?

Whilst studying at university I was lucky enough to get a place on Stephensons’ summer vacation scheme, working in the regulatory department. I really enjoyed the placement; the work was interesting and everyone I met was welcoming. I came back the following summer on the vacation scheme and during my placement a graduate paralegal role was advertised within the regulatory department, which I applied for and was offered the position. My work experience with the firm cemented my desire to work at Stephensons in a permanent role, as it was clear the firm offered a lot of opportunities to its staff.

I was able to work part-time as a graduate paralegal whilst studying my LPC. I successfully obtained a training contract at the firm, which began in February 2016 and I have recently qualified as a solicitor in the regulatory department.

What is the best thing about your job?

In the regulatory department no one day is ever the same. I am constantly learning which means that I remain interested and motivated. We act for clients who are at risk of losing their professional registration or business due to enforcement action being taken by their regulatory body and as such, we are really invested in our client’s cases; this makes it all the more rewarding when we get a good result for them.

Why would you recommend a career at Stephensons?

Stephensons provides the opportunities you need to advance in your career and they actively encourage and support you to take full advantage of those opportunities. This means that the staff are highly trained, supported and motivated and this is reflected in the high levels of service provided to our clients.

Describe Stephensons in three words:
