Accounts Assistant

Main purpose of the job:

To deal with the accounts aspect of SRA interventions.

Responsible to:

Department manager

Main key result areas

  • Attendance at SRA interventions on day one
  • Retrieve bank reconciliations and accounting documentation for previous three years
  • Produce a reconciled list of accounts to the statutory trust funds
  • Analyse client ledgers to ascertain the beneficial owner of funds in ledger
  • Locate evidence to support the information on the ledgers from either accounts information or client files
  • Copy, record and collate evidence
  • Liaise with clients and/or third parties by letter, email of telephone, logging each query on the database detailing any action taken or advice provided
  • Send out claim forms, monitor and chase claim forms that have not been returned
  • Reporting, via the department manager, to the SRA on progress and distribution of funds, distributing to clients, third parties and SRA
  • Carry out tasks whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Provide support to department manager as required

Minimum qualifications – 5 GCSE or equivalent at Grade C or above, including maths and english, (relevant work experience can be considered as an alternative)
