Main purpose of the job:

To act on behalf of clients (usually companies/business organisations) who have had a vehicle within their fleet/organisation that has been involved in a road traffic collision and as a result they/their organisation have suffered financial loss, in the form of storage, recovery, repair and credit hire as result of the incident. To be responsible for a high volume case load and provide a complete claims service from instruction to completion including adherence to strict service level agreements.

Responsible to:

Personal injury department manager

Main key result areas

  • Liaises with all parties to obtain all necessary information at the outset in order to be able to progress the claim and determine liability
  • Collates evidence in support of losses and prepares the initial letter of claim
  • Submits details of claims to relevant parties and negotiates settlement.
  • Necessitate the issue of court proceedings.
  • Provides advice and updates to clients on the claims progression and deals with any enquiries
  • Issues court proceedings where necessary and attend court hearings
  • Ensures that all deadlines are monitored and met
  • Ensures that case management systems are updated
  • Carries out general administrative duties including typing and diary management
  • Effective management of own time, ensuring that non chargeable and chargeable hours are recorded effectively and correctly
  • Compliance with client care and complaints procedures in order to minimise the risk of negligence and comply with Law Society Rules

Educated to degree level ideally a law degree or ILEX, relevant experience can also be considered as an alternative
